Energy Minister Jagadish Reddy said that the Telangana Government aims to generate 50,000 MW of renewable energy by April 2017.
Speaking to media persons after addressing the 4th Green Energy Conference in New Delhi, the minister said renewable energy needs to be promoted in order to meet the future demand. He said that the State Government has invited tenders for setting up solar power plants in all 10 districts of Telangana. He said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has issued directions for establishing solar sheds in government offices. He said there were several opportunities for generation of Wind and Solar Power. (INN)
