The Telangana State has got 50 water shed schemes under Integrated Watershed Management Program. This will help the state government to develop 2.05 lakh hectares of land.
The State Government has directed the officials concerned to prepare plans for the same by December. The government will appoint about 50 officials for the project implementation. While a state level officer will monitor entire process across the state, the rest will implement the program at all districts. The officials have begun works related to assessing the land that needs to be developed in 10 districts of Telangana State. Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Principal Secretary Ramond Peter has issued orders to prepare plans for the project to be taken up.(NSS)
