Hyderabad: There is good news for the Urdu speakers of Telangana State. After the instructions issued by Mr. KCR, Council for Higher Education has decided to conduct all entrance tests for admissions into higher education courses also in Urdu.
It may be mentioned that these entrance tests used to be held in English and Telugu only. Mr. KCR had given an assurance in the winter session of TS Assembly which is now being fulfilled.
This decision of the council will benefit many Urdu medium students. Ms. Ranjiv Acharya, Principal Secretary, Higher Education and Prof. Papi Reddy, Chairman TS Council for Higher Education took a decision in a meeting held on 6th February.
It is expected that all the entrance tests starting from May will be held in Urdu besides English and Telugu.
It may be mentioned that Council for High Education conducts EAMCET, ICET, EDCET, PGECET, LAWCET, PGCET etc.
The interests of the candidates have increased due to the online test. There is a need to offer coaching to guide minority students to prepare for online entrance tests.
