Hyderabad: In Telangana State Assembly Election which is scheduled to be held on 7th December 2018, special arrangements will be made for burqa-clad women voters.
According to the statement made by Chief Election Commissioner, Mr. OP Rawat, there is no need for burqa-clad women voters to reveal their identity in front of any male election staff.
Special arrangements will be made to post women staff in polling booths in areas where there is more concentration of Muslim women voters. In certain areas, women police personnel will also be deployed.
Mr. Rawat dismissed the idea of “Pink Polling Stations” and said that there will be separate polling booths for women voters and there will be no specific colour for such booths.
