Hyderabad: Hyderabad High Court (HC) ordered the Election Commission (EC) to release the final list of voters on 12th October.
It may be mentioned that Congress leader, Mr. M. Shashidhar Reddy had filed a petition complaining irregularities in the voters’ list. The hearing of the petition took place yesterday. Mr. Reddy had approached Hyderabad HC on the direction from Supreme Court of India.
Hyderabad HC also directed the EC to file an affidavit highlighting the process of resolving the objections on voters’ list.
Pleader of Mr. Reddy, Mr. J. Ravi Shanker informed the HC that questions are being raised on the voters’ list which is posted on the website. It was noticed that thousands of voters have been enrolled at the same address. The pleader also enquired as to how the names of genuine voters would be included in the voter lists which were dropped earlier. Further hearing will be held on 12th October.
HC also reserved the verdict on the petitions filed by Ms. D K Aruna and Mr. Sheshank Reddy who had challenged the decision of the government for the dissolution of State Assembly.
