Hyderabad: There is a belief that the people’s representatives do not have good educational qualifications. This assumption is no longer holds true in case of newly elected MLAs of Telangana Assembly.
Out of 119 MLAs, 71 are highly educated. They are graduates, postgraduate and even Ph.Ds. Newly elected MLAs also include Doctors, Engineers, Law degree holders.
According to the report published in New Indian Express, out of 119 MLAs, 43 are graduates, 26 are postgraduates, 2 are Ph.D. holders, 27 belongs to diploma background or have passed 10+2 and rest MLAs have done schooling.
It is also reported that out of newly elected MLAs, 11 holds a degree in law, 9 are engineers and 5 are doctors.
Out 119 MLAs, the qualification of 71 is graduation or above.
Surprisingly, this does not hold true in the case of Greater Hyderabad. Out of 24 MLAs, only 5 MLAs hold degrees.

In Greater Hyderabad, the MLAs who hold degrees belong to Amberpet, Khairatabad, Musheerabad, Secunderabad Cantt and Quthbullapur Assembly constituencies.
