‘Truth prevails’, says KJ George after rejoining Siddaramaiah’s cabinet

Bengaluru [India]: After being given a clean chit by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) in the Deputy SP Ganapathy suicide case, former Karnataka minister KJ George was re-inducted into the Siddaramaiah government today, after which he asserted that truth prevails.

Speaking to the media after he took the oath of office as a Cabinet-rank minister at the Raj Bhavan, George expressed his gratefulness to the people of Karnataka and thanked his collegues who had stood with him during the time of crisis.

“I know that I have not done anything wrong, that’s why I voluntarily resigned on moral grounds. Today as per the HC direction, the entire incident was investigated and I was given a clean chit to me,” he said.

Further asserting that he is taking this opportunity to serve the people of Karnataka, George added that he will now turn his attention towards improving the infrastructure of Bangalore.

Earlier today, he was given the Bengaluru Development and Town Planning portfolio which he had held when he resigned on July 18, 2016.

George had quit under pressure after a Judicial Magistrate of First Class court in Madikeri ordered the State police to file a first information report against him in connection with Ganapathi’s suicide.

However, the CID has not drawn any adverse inference against George. (ANI)
