Trump says he has information on alleged Russian cyber hacking in 2016 election

Florida [United States]: The United States President-elect Donald Trump has said that he has information about the alleged Russian cyber hacking in the 2016 election and promised to disclose the same this week.

“It could be somebody else. And I also know things that other people don’t know, and so they cannot be sure of the situation,” CNN quoted Trump, as saying.

Responding to a question as to what undisclosed information he knew, Trump said, “You’ll find out on Tuesday or Wednesday.”

The president-elect has also scheduled an intelligence briefing this week following President Barack Obama imposing sanctions against Russia for the alleged hacking.

Trump said that he wants the intelligence agencies to be sure as it’s a pretty serious charge.

He said it is unfair if intelligence agencies don’t know about it, adding that hacking is a very hard thing to prove as he knows a lot about it.

Trump has repeatedly dismissed intelligence assessment that claimed Russia meddled in the election to help him defeat Hillary Clinton.

He had also appreciated Russian President Vladimir Putin last week for not expelling the U.S. diplomats in response to Washington’s sanctions on them and called him very smart for his move. (ANI)
