New York [USA]: With the less defiant Donald Trump moving closer to the White House, he could be seen mellowing down as the US President-elect has in one of his latest decisions decided not to prosecute Hillary Clinton in the e-mail case.
During the election campaign, Trump pledged to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Clinton and joined the crowd of his supporters in chants of “lock her up!”
He even warned Clinton that he would jail her if he becomes the President.
He recently told New York Times that the idea of prosecuting Clinton is “just not something I feel very strongly about.”
The quotes come from the tweets of New York Times reporters Mike Grynbaum and Maggie Haberman, who attended a meeting between the President-elect and reporters and editors at the paper, reports the CNN.
“I don’t want to hurt the Clintons, I really don’t. She went through a lot and suffered greatly in many different ways,” said Trump according to the tweets.
He said that the issues have been investigated “ad nauseum” and added that people could argue the Clinton Foundation has done “good work”. (ANI)
