Washington: After Beijing’s decision to send a special envoy to Pyongyang, the Whitehouse has said that the US president wants China to increase pressure on North korea to curb its Nuclear weapons programme.
According to Media reports, Xi Jinping, the Chinese president has sent special envoy Song Tao to North Korea to inform the outcome of the recent Congress of the ruling Communist Party of China and contents of recent talks between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping. The special envoy was also to convey the message to halt nuclear programme of the North Korea’s ruling establishment.
The talks between Mr.Trump and Mr. Xi, held last week focussed on North Korea and its programme, and Trump had tweeted that he was impressed with the chinese efforts to denuclearise the Korean Peninsula. Sarah Sanders, the Press Secretary of White House told to the reporters that “The President certainly favours China in taking a greater role in putting a maximum pressure on North Korea.”
