Trump holds the ‘vicious world’ responsible for Khashoggi’s death

Washington: Citing Saudi denial, the US president Donald Trump says he did not know who was behind the killing. He suggested that “the vicious world” should be held accountable for the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. He denied that US intelligence officials had concluded Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the killing of the Washington Post columnist. He was speaking to reporters.

Various sources quoted Trump as saying, “Maybe the world should be held accountable because the world is a vicious place. The world is a very vicious place.”

Trump defended Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman over the killing of murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi. He called the Middle Eastern ally important to the U.S. economy.
