Hyderabad, November 30: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti Legislature Party will meet here on Wednesday to adopt a strategy to be implemented in the winter session of the state legislative Assembly which begins on Thursday.
Party chief and member of Parliament K Chandrasekhar Rao will preside over the meeting. The TRS, while supporting the notrust motion to be moved by the Telugu Desam, will stall the proceedings demanding a separate Telangana state. The TRSLP meeting will discuss strategy to be followed in the Assembly, particularly when the TDP moves the no trust motion against the government.
Though TRS leaders have declared that they will support the motion, a final decision will be taken at Wednesday’s meeting. The TRS is also contemplating giving a notice for moving a notrust motion on its own. In such a scenario, it is not necessary for it to support the TDP’s motion directly on the floor of the Assembly. The strength of the TRS in the Assembly is 12. The meeting will also discuss the strategy on the byelections for six Assembly seats in Telangana. The party will contest the byelections.
According to a leader, two Assembly seats fell vacant in Mahaboobnagar district being represented by the TRS chief in Parliament. So the party will accord priority to ensure the victory of the party candidates with clear and unassailable majority. The outcome of the Assembly byelections in Mahaboobnagar district will have a direct impact on the party’s prospects.TRS MPs have already raised the Telangana issue in the ongoing Parliament session.
Similarly, the party’s MLAs will raise it in the Assembly and stall the proceedings. On the other hand, Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman Kodandaram has demanded that the Assembly adopt a resolution seeking formation of Telangana state. If the government failed in this regard, the Congress would be wiped out from T, he said.
