Energy Minister Jagadish Reddy has claimed that the TRS would win the Palair by-elections, to be held on May 16, with an overwhelming majority.
Addressing a meeting of TRS workers in Khammam on Sunday, Jagadish Reddy compared the Palair by-elections with the by-polls held for Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat in 2006 wherein TRS Chief and present Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao won with a huge majority. He said polling was just a formality in Palair and the victory of TRS candidate Tummala Nageshwara Rao was certain. He said that Congress candidate Sucharitha Reddy would not be able to secure her deposit.
Jagadish Reddy described the Palair by-elections as one-sided affair.
The meeting was also addressed by Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, MP Narsaiah Goud and others. (INN)
