Senior Congress leader and former minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today said the TRS will bite dust in the next general elections in 2019.
Interacting with media persons at Assembly lobbies here on Wednesday, Venkat Reddy said the TRS will win only five seats, including T Harish Rao, Eatala Rajender and others. Curiously, the Congress leader also doubted the win of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Reddy said he has a “mole” on his tongue and the word he utters will become true and “I am sure that KCR will not win in the next elections.
He also reasoned that the people of the State are unhappy with the governance that failed to keep promises of manifesto. He praised that Harish Rao as a great leader with mass image for his efforts during Statehood movement. Reddy attributed the defeat of the Congress during 2014 elections to inordinate delay in according statehood to the Telangana region.
“Had all the ministers in the previous regime resigned for the statehood and delivered Telangana on time, the Congress would have easily secured 100 seats and the TRS would have bit dust”, he said. “Though I suggested, Jana Reddy failed to react and take steps for resignations and exert pressure on the Centre for statehood”, he said. Stating that he would take up a State-wide motorcycle rally, Reddy said no permission is required to seek votes in the State. (NSS)
