TRS will contest on its own: Naidu,YSR back-stabbed earlier-KCR

TRS Chief K Chandrashekar Rao has made it clear that his party will contest the 2014 elections on its own and it will not enter into alliance with any political party, keeping in view the experiences it faced with different political parties in the past. He also said that the party will announce the candidates list in the end of May.

Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan here on Friday after the party politburo meeting along with the Medak MP Vijayashanthi and several other leaders, KCR has exuded confidence that his party will win easily 15 Parliament seats and said that party will have liberty on whom to support in the Centre if it contested on its own. “The party will not have liberty if it contested along with other political parties” he said.

He said that his party was a secular party and it will have a chance to support the secular alliance in the Centre after the elections. He said that the party had good experience with the leaders like TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu and former chief minister late Dr YSR, who backstabbed the TRS after the elections in regard to Telangana issue, and hence the party has taken a decision to contest on its own.

He made it clear that the UPA government was not in a position to carve out separate Telangana State at this juncture because the government itself was on the edge. He also lashed out at the Congress party for deceiving the Telangana people for the last three generations including first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and present AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi. He alleged that Nehru failed to implement the Fazal Ali Commission recommendations and Indira Gandhi was responsible for killing of 400 youth during 1969 movement and Sonia Gandhi was the reason for the present situation.

He hurled a challenge at the Congress party leaders to come forward for a debate on Congress party’s betrayal in regard to creation of separate Telangana. He was ready to participate in a debate at Abids if the Congress leaders have guts to come forward.

He said that several MPs and MLAs were in touch with him to join the TRS party and it will be known within 10 days time. He said that the achievement of separate Telangana State was possible only with the self political stamina of TRS.
