Hyderabad, October 25: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) demanded that the the bulk auction of lands at MJ Road, Afzal Gunj, Kukatapally, Gachibowli, Nizampet, Alwal and Malkajgiri should be stopped forthwith. The auction is scheduled on October 26.

In a letter to the vice-chairman and Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh Housing Board, TRS leader T Harish Rao wanted the Housing Board to put off the auction.

Harish Rao recalled that in the earlier occasions, the High Court directed that the sale of the land should not be confirmed without the permission of the Court.

While the matter was pending in the High Court, the Housing Board is seeking to auction the lands, he pointed out. The lands were in large extents ranging above 1,000 to 3,000 square yards.

They are not part of any housing scheme. The AP Housing Board instead of providing housing accommodation to the needy was trying to disposing of the lands.

He further recalled that the AP Housing Board was constituted in 1956 for the purpose of satisfying the housing needs of the lower and middle class.
