The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Wednesday announced that it will contest the next elections on its own.
Talking to reporters here, TRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao said that the party would have no tie-ups with other political parties for the next polls. Describing Congress party as the main obstacle in the formation of Telangana State, he said that the TRS would contest the next elections on the slogan of “Congress Khatam Karo – Telangana Haasil Karo” (Finish the Congress to achieve Telangana).
Harish Rao informed that the party would discuss the strategy for the next elections along with the plans for intensifying the Telangana agitation during the “Suryapet Samarabheri” to be held on November 25. He said that the several issues pertaining to the Telangana region would also be discussed during the proposed meeting.
Stating that the TRS party would not conduct any negotiations with the Congress High Command over the Telangana issue, Harish Rao said that the ruling party has repeatedly cheated the people of the region on the statehood issue. Commenting on Nara Chandrababu Naidu, he asked the TDP chief to announce that he was in favour of Telangana, instead of reiterating that he never opposed the formation of separate State. (INN)
