Nizamabad :Taking on the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, Congress president Rahul Gandhi compared the party with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) saying that TRS should be better named as TRSS, which stands for Telangana-RSS, while KCR should be named as Khao Commission Rao.
While addressing an election rally in poll-bound Telangana’s Nizamabad, Rahul said that there is a nexus between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Rao.
He said that Rao has filled his own coffers at the cost of the state and has looted public money.
“Profits hoarded by Rao’s son increased 400 times while each family in Telangana plunged into a debt of Rs. 2.5 lakh. In four and a half years of TRS rule, Telangana is indebted with Rs. 2.5 lakh Crore,” said the Congress president.
He said that Rao’s only aim is to rule the state and help Narendra Modi in ruling the centre. “Rao helped Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Lok Sabha, RajyaSabha, presidential election and Vice President election. While everyone criticized demonetisation, Rao supported it,” he asserted.
“He only wants that his family should rule the state while Narendra Modi should rule at centre,” opined the Gandhi scion.
Rahul said that Congress party would create a corpus of Rs 500 crore to help the family of those who are ‘trapped’ in the Gulf countries or are in trouble there.
“We will help them and their families, and for that Congress would create a corpus of Rs 500 crore,” he stated.
Gandhi said that the TRS government has failed on every count, be it employment for youth, housing, waiver of farmers loan or public projects in the state. He said that on coming to power Congress government will give Rs 3000 as allowance to unemployed youth and will provide 1 lakh employement opportunities.
Continuing his tirade against the central government, Gandhi said that Goods and Services Tax (GST) levied by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has damaged the economy and life of ‘beedi’ workers in the state, and if Congress comes to power at the centre, GST will be simplified.
Assembly elections are due on 7 December in Telangana.
