Hyderabad, October 15: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) today announced an agitation programme to press for its demand for a constitutional amendment following the Supreme Court judgement declaring Hyderabad as a “free zone” for the purpose of police recruitment.
The sub-regional party would organise public meetings on October 21 and November one to highlight several issues including ‘free zone’, farmers’ problems and share of Telangana region in Krishna and Godavari river waters.
TRS would also hold a ‘jail bharo’ (courting arrest) programme on October 28 over the ‘free zone’ issue, party President K Chandrasekhar Rao told reporters here.
“We will not hesitate to launch a militant struggle for the sake of Telangana (state) and we are ready to face even bullets,” he said.
TRS said the judgement on police recruitment would hurt the interests of Telangana people.
