Hyderabad, May 04: Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to resume the Telangana movement in the region after May 15.
He appointed former member of Parliament AP Jitendar Reddy as member of the party Politburo, increasing its strength to 33.
The TRS chief also decided to ask all the in-charges of Assembly constituencies and districts to continue in their posts.
Al committees and cells of the party’s front organisations will also have extended tenures.
Rao, who was re-elected party president at a meeting in Mahaboobnagar meeting recently, met senior leaders at Telangana Bhavan, the party’s headquarters, here on Wednesday to discuss party matters and the political situation.
The state committee will meet in a few days to finalise an action plan to resume the movement. The party chief’s Bus Yatra will also be finalised at the meeting.
Talking with reporters later, TRS Legislature Party leader E Rajendar said the TRS would carry on the movement till a separate state was formed.
Another senior leader, Nayani Narasimha Reddy, said his party would support Telugu Desam leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy’s proposed meeting in Mahaboobnagar only if he resigned from the TDP before organising the meeting. Minister Jupally Krishna Rao also should quit the Congress and join the movement, Reddy said.
