Former MP B Vinod Kumar on Wednesday defended the decision of Telangana Rashtra Samithi to remain neutral in the Presidential elections scheduled to be held on July 19.
Talking to media persons, Vinod Kumar said that the TRS would abstain from voting like 2008, where it did not participate in the election. Stating that TRS has so far not taken any decision over extending support to UPA candidate Pranab Mukherjee, he said that TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao would take a final decision on participation of Presidential voting.
Vinod Kumar came down heavily on the YSR Congress party’s decision to support the candidature of Pranab Mukherjee. He alleged that the YSRC was supporting Pranab Mukherjee as part of deal reached with the Congress party which facilitates release of YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was languishing in Chanchalguda Jail in the disproportionate assets case.
Stating that Telangana region suffered major injustice even in the establishment of nursing colleges, he pointed out the Seemandhra region has six nursing colleges against one college in Telangana. He demanded that the government take steps for setting up of more nursing colleges in the Telangana region to rectify its mistake.
