Hyderabad, May 14: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti is ready to face mid-term elections if they take place, TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao has said, agreeing with the prediction of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that after the Kadapa by elections the state government will collapse.
The TRS chief, answering a question at a news conference after the party’s state executive committee meeting here on Thursday said: “I too have heard of the prediction. We will have no difficulty in facing the elections whenever they are held.”
Rao, however, spared Jagan Mohan Reddy while bashing Chandrababu Naidu and Kiran Kumar Reddy for advocating an integrated state. “People in Telangana had already shown what kind of respect they have for Jagan (when he tried to go on his Odarpu yatra). For any one to get support of the people in the region, one should adopt an unequivocal stand on Telangana.’’
The TRS chief was highly critical of TDP rebel leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy for his dual role. “One day he organises a public meeting in Nagarkurnool in support of Telagnana cause and the next day he is rubbing shoulders with Chandrababu Naidu,” he said.
The TRS decided to revive the movement for introduction of a bill in Parliament on Telangana. The executive decided to organise road blockade on May 14, dharna at mandal headquarters on May 19, a students’ conference at Hakimpet here on May 23, lay siege to collectorates on May 25 and finally organise rail roko on May 30.
