TRS politburo member Ibrahim joins Congress

Politburo member of Telangana Rashtra Samithi Syed Ibrahim joined the Congress party in the presence of Telangana PCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah here on Saturday.

Speaking to media persons on the occasion, former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha accused TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao of insulting Syed Ibrahim on several occasions to send a message across that there was no place for Muslims in his party. He ridiculed KCR’s promise of giving the Deputy Chief Minister’s post to a Muslim leader. He said that the TRS was unable to get a single Muslim elected on its ticket since its inception.

Rajanarasimha alleged that KCR went back on his promises of making a Dalit the first Chief Minister of Telangana. Similarly, he backtracked on the promise of TRS party’s merger with Congress after Telangana formation.

Former minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir alleged that KCR deliberately ensured the defeat of Syed Ibrahim in 2009 general and 2012 by-elections. He said that KCR was communal and anti-Muslims and therefore, the entire Muslim community were supporting the Congress party in Telangana region.

Syed Ibrahim accused KCR of selling the party tickets to rich people. He said there was no place for common workers in the TRS and the party has been converted into a family firm where rich and mighty veils the influence. KCR does not even have time to meet the common workers. (INN)
