Hyderabad, May 19: TRS today asked the Andhra Pradesh Government not to go ahead with the recruitment of Police Sub-Inspectors without deleting a controversial clause in the Presidential Order related to Hyderabad.
A delegation of TRS leaders, led by its floor leader in the Assembly E Rajender, met Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and demanded that the Congress Government take immediate steps to get the Clause 14 (F) of Presidential Order deleted.
The clause makes Hyderabad a free zone for recruitment of policemen and the TRS wants the state capital to be made a part of Zone-6 that comprises various Telangana districts.Keeping Hyderabad as a free zone harms the interests of candidates from Telangana districts, the TRS said.”The Andhra Pradesh Assembly had passed a resolution urging the Centre to delete 14 (F). But nothing has been done so far to get it done.
We demand that the Government refrain from making any recruitment without getting 14 (F) deleted,” Rajender told reporters.Stating that the Chief Minister agreed to take steps to get the contentious provision removed, he warned of agitation if the Government goes ahead with the recruitment process.
The TRS leader also demanded that the Government come to the rescue of paddy and mango farmers whose crops have been damaged due to unseasonal rains last week.
