Entering into a secret pact with MIM, TRS has offered Rajya Sabha seat to MIM if the later forfeits its claim for the mayor’s post. Reliable sources of TRS revealed that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao wants to see TRS candidate on mayor’s post at any cost. He is not ready to forgo mayor’s seat even if the party fails to get required seats.
Chief Minister has conducted survey regarding TRS position in Greater Hyderabad through various private media groups, on the basis of which the party seems to be emerging as the largest single party. In this situation the party would need another party’s support to select mayoral candidate. TRS leaders are sure that MLA and MLCs have right to vote on the basis of which it can be easy to grab mayor’s post.
However it is said that CM has also made his mind to select TRS corporator as deputy mayor, in order to avoid any interference from any other party in corporation’s functioning. In case it does not get clear majority he has offered Rajya Sabha seat to MIM if the later forfeits its claim for the post of mayor and deputy mayor.
