TRS not opposed to use of ballot paper in Palair by-polls: KTR

Hyderabad: Information Technology Minister K. Tarakarama Rao said that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi was not opposed to the demand of Congress party for using ballot papers in the by-elections for Palair Assembly Constituency in Khammam district.

Addressing a meeting of TRS workers in Khammam Rural mandal on Thursday, KTR dismissed the allegations of Congress party wherein it accused the ruling party of tampering with the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). He said there was no truth in the allegations being leveled by the Congress party. He said he himself would appeal to the Election Commission of India to conduct Palair by-polls using ballot papers.

KTR said TRS party trust people and not machines to win elections. He said despite losing several elections in a row, the Congress party has not learnt any lessons.

The meeting was also addressed by Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy, Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and others. (INN)
