The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Sunday announced the candidature of G Devi Prasad, TNGOs President, for the Hyderabad-Ranga Reddy-Mahabubnagar Graduates constituency of Telangana State Legislative Council.
The decision was taken by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao after holding a meeting with the senior leaders of the party at his camp office on Sunday.
Devi Prassad hails from Allipur village of Medak district. He has been an activist since college days and was associated with different organisations and participated in various movements. As the president of Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers Union (TNGOs), he played an active role during Telangana movement.
Devi Prasad thanked the Chief Minister for selecting him as party’s candidate for the MLC post.
The elections to fill two seats under Graduates Constituency will be held on March 16. (INN)
