TRS MLC demands Naidu’s arrest in ‘Cash for Vote’ case

TRS MLC K Yadava Reddy on Wednesday demanded that the Anti-Corruption Bureau arrest Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the ‘Cash for Vote’ case by making him the main accused in the scam.

Addressing a press conference at TRS Legislature Party office here, Yadava Reddy said Naidu should be arrested at the earliest. Else, he feared that he might try to influence the witnesses and tamper with the evidence. He alleged that the AP Chief Minister has been trying to escape action by the ACB by raising hue and cry.

Yadava Reddy also alleged that Naidu was not aware of the provision of Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act and advised him to take expert opinion before demanding handing over of Law and Order powers to the Governor as per Section 8. He said that the ‘Cash for Vote’ case was not related to city’s Law and Order, but it is a case of corruption by the TDP leaders. He said that the TDP leaders were trying to insult the Constitution by criticising the office of Governor.

Further, he said that the Election Commission has given nod to the ACB to go ahead with its investigation in the ‘Cash for Vote’ case. (INN)
