TRS MLC Karne Prabhakar on Thursday alleged that the Congress party had planned to incite violence during the ‘Chalo Mallanna Sagar’ rally on July 26 which was foiled by the police.
Speaking to reporters in TRS Legislature Party office, Prabhakar alleged that some anti-social elements were hired by the Congress leaders to create law and order problem in the guise of rally. In view of such reports, the Congress leaders were arrested at Gandhi Bhavan itself, he said.
Prabhakar said that the common people were appreciating the schemes being implemented by the TRS Government. However, the Congress party has been making attempts to stall the projects for its own survival. He said it was wrong on the part of opposition parties to continue their agitation despite Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s assurance on payment of compensation as per Land Acquisition Act, 2013.
The TRS MLC slammed Congress leaders for objecting to submergence of 8 villages for Mallana Sagar. He said 276 villages for Polavaram and 25 village for Pulichintala project were submerged during previous Congress regime. He said that residents of five out of 8 villages have agreed to give away their land for Mallanna Sagar project and the remaining three villages too would give their consent. (INN)
