TRS MLAs under cloud for voting against party: AP polls

Hyderabad, March 18: TRS had a bitter experience in the Legislative Council elections from Assembly quota yesterday on the way the party’s MLAs voted came under cloud.

TRS fielded its candidate Mahmood Ali though it had only 11 MLAs against the requisite strength of 27.

BJP, which has two MLAs, announced support to the TRS following a request from the latter. TDP’s rebel MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, who has been sailing with TRS, was also expected to vote for the TRS nominee.

The TRS candidate lost the election which was a foregone conclusion.

However, he secured only 11 votes though he was expected to get three votes more.

BJP floor leader G Kishan Reddy made it clear that the two votes of his party were cast for the TRS candidate.
