Police today arrested legislators from Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) when they staged a fast at the Vidyut Soudha, headquarters of the State Electricity Board, demanding seven-hour power supply for agriculture in the Telangana region. As the MLAS were obstructing the traffic, police initially tried to persuade them to leave the place. Tension prevailed for a while when the TRS MLAs resisted their arrest. Later, the traffic was cleared.
The TRS leaders met the Transco Chief Managing director on saturday last and asked him to give in writing that power would be supplied uninterrupted for seven hours to the farmers. UNI
