New Delhi, October 05: Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki on Tuesday stated that there were chances of Telangana Rashtra Samithi merging with the Congress, if the Centre announces a favourable decision on the separate Telangana statehood.
Talking to media persons, Madhu Yashki said that TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao would either merge his TRS or tie up with the Congress in the next elections in the event of Centre announcing a favourable decision on Telangana. He reminded that TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao himself announced that he would merge TRS if the Centre agrees for Telangana.
Yashki said that Telangana Congress Steering Committee chairman K Jana Reddy too conveyed the possibility of TRS merger with the Congress during his interaction with Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. However, Madhu Yashki said that the merger or tie-up with KCR would depend on the announcement of Centre.
The Congress MP alleged that some leaders were trying to water down the agitation by making confusing statements on merger of TRS. He alleged that Telugu Desam Party wants to encash the merger of TRS and to get mileage.
