Hyderabad, December 14: The TRS has decided to maintain silence on the ongoing agitation in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions and leave it to the Congress high command to resolve the crisis.
According to party senior leader Capt Laxmikantha Rao whatever was happening in the state was because of internal problems in ruling Congress, TDP and PRP parties. “All these parties which had assured support to separate state have now come out in their true colours and their members got divided on regional basis. At least now, they should take a firm stand either way and make it clear to the people where they stand on the issue,” he said.
The TRS, he said, was closely monitoring the developments and would pitch only if the present agitation forces the Centre to have a rethink on the issue. “Formation of separate state cannot be stopped now at any cost,” he said. It is for the state government to take a decision whether to adopt a resolution in favour of Telangana or not though was not mandatory for the Centre to wait for it,” he said, adding “TRS has faith in the leadership of Congress high command.”
Another senior leader said that TRS will organise “jaitra yatras” (victory rallies) in all Telangana districts after KCR recuperates. KCR will also go to New Delhi and meet AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, BJP leader LK Advani and others in the last week of December to express his gratitude.
