Warangal, December 17: Telangana Rashtriya Samithi urged the government to present formation of separate Telangana state bill during the budget session of the parliament. TRS will continue peaceful protest along with other parties and organizations. However if this bill is not produced in the budget session of the parliament then Telangana movement could take a violent turn and government would be responsible for this.
TRS also announced that non cooperation movement would be started if the bill is not produced before the parliament.
Lakhs of people from various districts in Telangana region thronged the ‘Maha Garjana’ meeting organised by the Telangana Rashtriya Samithi at Warangal and the Srikanthachary ground turned into a pink sea of humanity.
TRS supremo, Mr K Chandrasekhara Rao in his presidential address appealed Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to start the process of Telangana formation and not to test the patience of Telangana people further. He said ‘the gathering of 25 lakh people here is the proof of representation from across Telangana.’
The Maha Garjana is seen as an attempt by the TRS to showcase its strength before the Justice B N Srikrishna Commission submits its report on the future of Andhra Pradesh.
With all the roads in the town were filled by the TRS activists, the police had tough time to maintain traffic. Traffic on Hanmakonda-Janagam road came to halt stretching 15 km radius from the venue of the meeting.
While the TRS legislature party leader, Mr Etela Rajender, reached Warangal by foot, the Siddipet MLA, Mr T Harish Rao, proceeding in a rally was caught up in the traffic jam. When Mr Harish Rao’s procession from Siddipet reached Hasanparthy, all the vehicles on the highway stranded in the traffic jam. However, the vehicles of TRS leaders were inching towards Warangal.
The party organized cultural programmes highlighting the Telangana sentiments and culture, before the programme began.
