Speculations are rife over the future course of action of TRS in the event of formation of separate Telangana State. On the one hand , Congress wants TRS to be merge in it because Mr. KCR had promised for it. On the other hand, a strong group of TRS party leaders want not to merge TRS into Congress but TRS should play the role of the allied partner of the Congress. Party President, Mr. KCR is consulting his senior party colleagues on both these possibilities. Mr. KCR has made up his mind about the future course of action but he did not expose it. It is said that he will discuss both these possibilities with top level leaders of Congress. Final decision would be taken after the formation of separate Telangana State. It is said that on account of the promise Mr. KCR made earlier, he is under moral pressure heavily whereas MLAs and Senior party leaders, especially his son Mr.K.Taraka Rama Rao, daughter, Ms. Kavitha and nephew, Mr. Harish Roa are strongly oppose to merger. Since Congress Party have required majority for the formation of Govt., TRS should play the role of a King Maker and in that capacity it should share the Govt. Congress needs the support of 60 MLAs for the formation of Govt. where as it has only 50 members. In this way, there is no other alternative for the Congress except to take support from TRS for getting 10 more votes. This is the reason that TRS wants to participate in the formation of a coalition Govt. of the Congress as the power sharing partner. The purpose of joining the Govt. to influence its decisions. TRS has 17 MLAs. A party leader told that Mr. KCR had made many promises to the people during the struggle for separate Telangana. It is therefore, obligatory on his part to share the power by joining the Govt. in order to fulfill those promises. If TRS wants to fulfill its promises made to various sections of society, there is no other alternative for TRS except to join the Govt.
