TRS leaders want KCR shifted to Cherlapalli pris

Hyderabad, December 02: A delegation of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders today called on Chief Minister K Rosaiah demanding shifting of their party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao from Khammam sub-jail to Cherlapalli Central Prison near Hyderabad immediately. They also wanted the State Government to lift all the cases registered against the TRS president apart from providing police protection.

Speaking to reporters after meeting the Chief Minister here today, the TRS delegation led by TRS Legislative Party leader E Rajender said that the State Government is ill-treating Chandrasekhar Rao by putting him in a C-class prison though he is a member of the Lok Sabha and a former Union minister. He pointed out that the TRS president was facing threat from anti-Telangana and anti-social elements and sought police protection in this connection.

Former Parliament member B Vinod Kumar stated that the State Government will be responsible for the life of Chandrasekhara Rao. Replying to a question on involving students in the struggle for separate Statehood, he said that students should have political awareness as they are the future leaders of the nation. They have every right to react to the social issues and are joining the fight voluntarily but not by force, he clarified.

They claimed that the Chief Minister assured to look into their demands and asked the police officials to submit a report.
