TRS leaders asking farmers not to meet Rahul Gandhi: Sridhar Babu

Congress senior leader and former minister D Sridhar Babu has alleged that the TRS leaders, including Ministers and MLAs, are striving hard to prevent farmers from meeting AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi during the Rythu Bharosa Padayatra scheduled from Thursday.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, Sridhar Babu said that the families of farmers who committed suicide were being offered money if they avoid meeting Rahul Gandhi. However, he said that the Telangana farmers are firm on sharing their problems with Rahul Gandhi so as to find a permanent solution. He claimed that the State Government was forced to change its attitude towards farmers after Rahul Gandhi’s Telangana tour was announced.

Sridhar Babu claimed that the Congress party intends to solve the problems being faced by the farmers and has no intentions to politicise the issue.

Earlier, TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka released the song CDs on Rahul Gandhi’s Telangana tour. Former Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy was also present. (INN)
