TRS Govt to waive all crop loans; KCR to order inquiry into housing Irregularities

Asserting he would implement all promises mentioned in TRS manifesto, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao on Friday said his government would waive all crop loans and gold loans obtained for farm activities in Telangana State.
Extending thanks to AICC chief Sonia Gandhi, KCR said, “being CM of Telangana State, I wholeheartedly extend my gratitude to Sonia Gandhi on behalf of Telangana people, MLAs, MPs and MLCs. Had Sonia Gandhi not taken a determined decision and BJP extending cooperation, the statehood for Telangana region would not have become true. Indeed, Telangana is indebted to Sonia Gandhi in this regard”, KCR said.
Listing out his long-term vision and plan of action, KCR said his government would involve all political parties in the process of turning Osmania and Gandhi Hospitals into corporate hospitals like the NIMS. He reiterated that he would live up to people’s expectations in providing jobs, better education, health, roads and amenities in Hyderabad to be free from traffic, rain water clogging, drainage and so on.
Replying to debate on “Thanks Giving Motion” to Governor’s speech in Telangana State Assembly, which also sought clarity on loan waiver, KCR said with the decision to waive all loans without any conditions, the government will have to bear Rs 19,000 crores to benefit all 26 lakh farmers. During his two-and-a-half hour reply, the CM said he would deliver a graft-free and transparent governance routing out political corruption amid applause from treasury benches. KCR warned that he would soon order an inquiry and initiate stringent action against those ministers or officials who were involved in alleged irregularities with regard to allocation and construction houses for poor in the region. He alleged that successive governments built about 43 lakh houses so far and some are yet to be completed but most of them involved in corruption.
Expressing displeasure over distribution of some 91 lakh white ration cards as against 80 lakh households, KCR said corrective measures will be taken. Telangana will become a surplus power State in three years, he added, adding that his government will purchase power from Chattisgarh to cater to its needs. Telangana Genco will produce its own power, he said, adding that he will take a decision soon on fees reimbursement, medical, education facilities, welfare for BCs and Minorities and other promises made.
SPEEDY COMPLETION OF IRRIGATION PROJECTS
Telangana State will be turned into a green bed of crops with speedy completion of all irrigation projects in the region including Palamur Lift Irrigation, Kalwakurty, Nettempadu, Devadula, Kantanpally and others in a planned manner. He promised to complete Palamur lift irrigation to mitigate the problem of migration and sort out daunting Nalgonda fluoride issue with cooperation of all other parties in the house. On Polavaram Ordinance allocating 7 mandals to AP State, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promised him to resolve the issue during a debate in parliament. KCR said that he sought Modi to treat Telangana State equally on par with AP state with regard to schemes, funds and tax holidays, grants and others.
Nizam Sagar project of erstwhile Nizam rule was the world’s biggest and first major irrigation project was catering to 15 lakh acres in the region. The CM stated that he will call soon an all party meeting to resolve Polavaram, Irrigation and Power projects. The Chief Minister reiterated that his government is committed for welfare and will spend Rs 1 lakh crore for Backward Classes welfare and Rs 50,000 crores for SC welfare in Telagnana State in next five years. The state will usher in a new era of development and welfare he said that Hyderabad will be made a slum-less city and adorn all infrastructure and facilities to attract international investors. A draft plan with scientific approach will be ready to overcome the problems of water stagnation, storm water, drainage, traffic congestion and related issues, he said. (NSS)
