TRS Govt takes back 189 acre land from APNGOs

The Telangana State Government, which was cracking whip against “land grabbers and encroachers” of government land allotted by previous Congress Governments for 10 years, today took over 189.14 acres land given to APNGOs at Gopannapally under Serilingampally Mandal.
K Chandrasekhara Rao, who completed one month in office as Chief Minister wanted to leave his mark of ruling in each and every sector and aspect of the Telangana State. At his behest, the officials concerned got to business of demolishing illegal structures came up on the campus of Gurukul Trust land. Interestingly, this land accommodates ‘N Convention Center’ which belongs to noted Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, who moved the High Court. However, the court directed the GHMC to issue a notice to its owner before pressing the officials into the job of razing the structures down.
Thanks to the Government for sending shockwaves among the encroachers and land grabbers. On the directive of the State Government, officials of Revenue department recovered 189 acre land from APNGOs. Rajendranagar RDO Suresh Oddar, Serilingampally Tahasildar Vidyasagar and other officials took over the land in Gopannapally’s Survey No 36 and 37 from its occupant. They also reported to the Government that they have taken over the land after completing all formalities.
According to informed sources, the land has not been under the use and said to be defunct for about 10 years and is with the APNGOs, who failed to take up any development work there. On noting this, the Chief Minister pressed the Revenue Department officials to seize the issue. It is pertinent to note that the TRS Government has already asked the officials to take over the land allotted to various companies for keeping idle and does not serve the purpose. Thus the Revenue and Land officials are on ‘demolition spree’ against the illegal lands and the buildings came up on such premises.
Since these lands are mostly run by the Seemandhra businessmen and politicians, they automatically became target of the State Government. The TRS supreme, time and again, made it clear that on coming to power they will take back all the lands encroached by Seemandhra businessmen and politicians and their relatives and friends. It is being stated that it is the turn of Lanco Hills of former Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, which is in the eye of storm of the Government. The land comprising illegal structures may be the next target if it is found to have any encroachment or violation of revenue norms. The Chief Minister asked the Revenue Department and others to submit a report pertaining to the Lanco Hills. (NSS)
