TRS Govt not sincere towards Minorities’ welfare: Shabbir

Congress MLC Mohd Ali Shabbir today accused the State government of showing step-motherly treatment towards the Minorities in the State.

Raising the issue during the question hour in the Council today, the Leader of Opposition said there was total neglect towards Minorities’ welfare in the State. Hardly 30% of the budgeted sum of Rs 1200 crore was spent till December this year.

The State government  has kept pending 1,67,000 applications from poor minority entrepreneurs and small Muslim traders and industrialists are harassed. Of the Rs 150 crore budgeted for the subsidy Bank linked Income generation schemes, hardly Rs.34.50 crore was released and bills worth Rs.40.50 crore is still pending.

Replying to the debate on the question in the Council, Deputy C.M Mahmood Ali  agreed it was a fact that many applications were pending with regard to loans, Shadi Mubarak and scholarships to minority students and every effort was being made to resolve these issues and release funds for the benefit of the Minorities.
