Telangana Congress Vice-President and MLC Mohammed Ali Shabbir has accused the TRS Government of being non-serious in the implementation of Shaadi Mubarak scheme, which aims to provide Rs 51,000 to poor girls of minority communities at the time of their marriage.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, Shabbir Ali alleged that link to Shaadi Mubarak scheme through the website http://epasswebsite.cgg.gov.in is still not accessible and the helpline number 040-24760452 is not fully operational. The State Government had issued the Shaadi Mubarak guidelines through GO Ms No 4 on September 25 this year. The scheme was to be implemented from October 2. However, as on today, November 8, many people are unable to even apply for the scheme.
Shabbir Ali said the State Government was merely playing with the sentiments of the poor minorities through tall promises and making them chase mirages. The TRS Government should behave responsibly and stop playing with the sentiments of poor people, he demanded.
Referring to the High Court striking down the ordinance issued by Telangana Government on agricultural market committees, the Congress leader said that the TRS Government has been rapped by different courts on at least seven occasions. This clearly shows the inefficiency of the government in running the administration and taking policy decisions. He alleged that the government has adopted a quite formal approach even to the matters of serious importance.
Shabbir Ali also informed that the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee will hold State Minorities Convention in Hyderabad on November 23. A decision in this regard was taken during a meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan and chaired by TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Saturday. Prominent personalities including Central leaders will participate in the convention.
During the convention, the Telangana Congress will also discuss about its alliances with other parties, including the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.
