The Telangana TDP leaders on Wednesday alleged that the TRS Government of Telangana has failed to stop the illegal construction of irrigation projects by neighbouring Karnataka and Maharashtra.
Speaking to media persons here, Telangana TDP President L. Ramana and floor leader in Assembly Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been wasting his time criticising his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu over irrigation projects. He said KCR has remained ignorant of the fact that Maharashtra and Karnataka have constructed illegal projects on Krishna and Godavari Rivers. He said those projects would hurt the interest of Telangana in future.
The TDP leaders demanded that the State Government make immediate representation with the Centre to stop those projects. They said KCR should display same interest in irrigation project which he has shown in dealing with ‘Cash for Vote’ case. They said that the TDP had opposed when the Karnataka tried to raise the height of Almatti Dam. Similarly, protests were held on Babli project. (INN)
