TRS govt failed to spend even Rs 5 crore on Dalit uplift: TTDP

Telangana TDP today alleged that the TRS government had promised to spend Rs 50,000 crore  for welfare of Dalits in five years. But it failed to spend even five crore rupees so far.

The Telangana TDP leaders today attended funeral of Bharati, who died while participating in MRPS agitation near Hyderabad Collectorate on Monday. The MRPS had given a call to its members to storm the Hyderabad Collectorate demanding an all-party meeting on categorization of reservation for scheduled caste communities.

TTDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veeriah, politburo member Motkupally Narsimhulu, SC cell State president Botla Srinivas, TDP city president M N Srinivas and others attended the funeral and paid tributes. The funeral procession was taken from Osmania Hospital en route MRPS office.

TDP SC cell state president Srinivas said the State government lacked commitment on SC categorization and Dalits were being subjected to atrocities whenever they raised their voice. “The time is not far away to teach a lesson to TRS government”, he warned. (NSS)
