TRS Govt creating problems for podu cultivators by shelving Forest Act: Mallu Ravi

Hyderabad: TPCC vice-president Mallu Ravi on Wednesday alleged that the TRS government was creating problems for the podu cultivators by not implementing the Forest Land Act in the State.

Speaking to media persons here, Mallu Ravi said the Act was brought by the then UPA Government for the benefit of the people of the State. He alleged that the ruling party leaders were trying to highlight the issue of the attack on the Forest officials in order to sidetrack the issue of farmers’ rights over such lands. He said it was unfortunate that CM KCR failed to hold any review meeting on such a serious issue so far. He made it clear that the Forest lands were more than anything for the tribals of the State.

Targeting the BJP, Mallu Ravi alleged that the saffron party was carrying out baseless campaign over the entry of other party leaders into their party. He wondered whether the BJP did not have any able leader to lead the party and ridiculed the BJP saying it was depending on Congress party leaders to lead it. He also alleged that the BJP was focusing only on other party leaders instead of cornering the State government on public problems.
