Due to lack of clarity on various welfare schemes, the Telangana Government was creating panic like situation, said TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah.
Speaking to mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, Ponnala charged the TRS Government with confusing farmers and people with regard to manifesto promises. This is sheer negligence on part of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who should clarify on his much publicized farm loan waiver promise, he alleged. Despite completion of one month at the helm of affairs, the Chief Minister failed to address the grievances of people on many fronts, Lakshmaiah criticized. The TRS, which claims to have waged a 13-year protracted struggle for achieving Telangana State and its chief KCR having 30 years of political experience, the TRS Government is still dillydallying on key issues, he alleged.
The TRS Government needs to give clarity on party promises before implementing them. There is an urgent focus needed on farm loan waiver, fees reimbursement, ration cards, housing to poor, pension and other issues, he felt. “I am not politicizing” these issues, but the people are getting confused with the attitude of the Government, he stated. Right now, there is dry spell in Telangana State which cannot back on its poll time promises, he said, adding that the TRS Government shows over-enthusiasm on resuming lands allocated by the successive governments for various projects in and around Hyderabad, he said. He also strongly opposed the demolition of some alleged illegal structures at Gurukul Trust land without issuing notices or alerting the occupants in advance. The Government can take back the lands which were kept idle for long time, he said, adding that there is a need to look into the basic issue, he opined. (NSS)
