Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said the State government’s aim was to empower the farmers through several schemes of welfare. Crop investment scheme will give them necessary boost for increasing farm activity and avoid to borrow loans for raising crops, Harish Rao said.
“We have been implementing several schemes in the state for the cause of the farmers and the people”, he said while participating in some programs at Nizamabad marketyard here and launched a unique Saddimuta program to feed the farmers.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the market has set a record by procuring 70,000 bags of produce from farmers. He appreciated the Market Yard officials and staff for achieving e-Nam market award. He said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was giving minimum support price for every crop in the State and helping the farmers. KCR himself is a farmer and giving all support to the farmers, Harish said, adding that the credit of giving Rs 5 lakh crop insurance goes to Telangana government. The Chief Minister was extending all support to the farmers to sustain and empower, he added. (NSS)
