Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari here on Sunday reiterated that the TRS government was committed to waive crop loans below Rs one lakh.
Speaking to mediapersons here, the Deputy Chief Minister said the government had deposited Rs 4,250 crore in the banks last year for this purpose. Besides, the government also allocated Rs 4,250 crore in the current year’s budget for the same purpose, he said, adding that the funds would be released shortly.
Making it clear that the government would deposit loan waiver amounts along with interest in the bank accounts of the farmers, Srihari lashed out at the Opposition parties for making a fuss over the farmers’ loan waiver issue needlessly. However, there was no need to take cognizance of such useless criticism of those parties, which have one-point program of leveling false allegations due to political vendetta, he added. (NSS)
