Hyderabad, December 26: With the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leadership getting enough indications that the Srikrishna Committee report may not be in favour of a Telangana state, the party has shifted its focus to building a ‘political battalion’ in the region to wage a ballot war.
The TRS leadership, especially party president K Chandrasekhar Rao, is of the firm opinion that the TRS should emerge as the only political force in the region eliminating the Congress and the TDP. In order to chalk out a strategy towards this objective, the party is planning to hold its executive meeting at the TRS Bhavan here on December 29. The TRS leadership also impressed upon the Telangana political JAC the need for achieving a consensus among all the organisations fighting for the T-cause, including the Telangana Praja Front floated by balladeer Gadar.
After December 31, the TRS will continue the agitations under the banner of T JAC while at the same time intensifying its own political activity to build a new political battalion in Telangana. The TRS has already started preparations with an aim to gain the maximum mileage from the local body elections which are likely to be held in June and July.
In order to strengthen the party at the grass-root level, it has appointed Assembly constituency in-charges for the 119 segments and also the district in-charges.
