TRS leader in Assembly Etela Rajender has alleged that the State government was depriving works to small contractors by introducing EPC policy in the contract system.
Speaking to the media here on Monday, the TRS leader charged the government with conspiring to give all tenders to big contractors and helping them to earn several crores of rupees through this EPC policy and starving the small contractors of works.
The TRS legislators called on the Central Power Discom Limited chief managing director and directors in the Mint Compound office and demanded that the EPC system be dispensed with immediately. They also charged that though small contractors have vast experience in executing works impeccably, they were being harassed by depriving them of tenders. They also warned that the government alone would be held responsible for the consequences if the big contractors set their foot in the Telangana region. (NSS)
