TRS committed for 33% quota to women in legislative bodies: KTR

IT & Municipal Administration Minister K Tarakarama Rao today made it clear that the TRS government was committed to implement 33 per cent reservation to women in legislative bodies.

Asked by a reporter at the GES venue whether the State government would give importance to give 33 percent reservation to women in legislative bodies, the IT minister clarified that if the Women Reservation Bill was tabled in Parliament, the TRS government would definitely support it and implement it letter and spirit. He also reminded that a resolution on providing 33% reservation to women in legislative bodies was passed in the Assembly. Stating that there were a few women in the Telangana Assembly, KTR said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would take a decision on induction of women in the cabinet at an appropriate time.

Expressing happiness over the GES-2017 being held for the first time in South Asia, especially in Hyderabad, KTR said the State government seized the rare opportunity so that the State would get huge investments from all over the world. Stating that the State was benefited a lot due to the T Hub, KTR said the TRS government would give priority to women in the industrial policy in future.

Disclosing that America President’s advisor Ivanka Trump has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to America, KTR said he will also go to America soon. (NSS)
